Farhad Darya

Farhad Darya is a singer and a human rights activist from Afghanistan. He was born in Kabul Afghanistan. He was recognized as the National Goodwill Ambassador for Afghanistan by the United Nations Office for Drug and Crime.

Farhad Darya was singing when he was studying Persian Literature at Kabul University. Then he served in Afghanistan Army. In 1990 he moved to Germany and started singing again. He tries to promote peace and harmony through art and fights against extremism in Afghanistan.

Mr. Darya has received several Awards and Honors due to his human rights activities such as, Human Rights Award by Human Rights Commission on June 5, 2005 in Kabul, Afghanistan; Peace Building Award Ariana International Network in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2010; Goodwill Ambassador for Afghanistan by United Nations Office for Drug and Crime in December 2012; Peace Hero Title by Peace Museum Vienna on December 2, 2014; Peace Ambassador Prize by Universal Peace Federation Austria on December 2, 2014 and several Best Singer Awards.
